TESTIMONIALS

"Anette Pollner is one of the most committed writers and talented moderators I have met. Her expertise helped no end in polishing and reworking many of the stories in my debut short story collection. The visual, audio and textual prompts for the writing exercises are innovative and inspiring, as is the group interaction that follows. I would recommend Anette’s writing workshops for all serious writers – whether beginning or experienced - who are looking for a creative springboard. For me, it was a winning formula."

Tejaswini Apte-Rahm,

“Inspiration can't be taught -- that's what we're told. Not quite true. Anette has developed techniques to bring us to a place of readiness where inspiration can and does strike. This short course has been the single best investment I've made in my creative writing."
Cait Atherton, Fish and Bridport short story competition winner
“This workshop is cleverly designed to take the fear out of writing and show anyone that they can produce a decent piece of writing in a very short time. The techniques also have benefits beyond writing and also into the field of business. Highly recommended for anyone going through the frustration of writing anything."

ANETTE POLLNER PROFESSIONAL WRITING COACH

Anette Pollner
has won several novel and essay prizes. Her novels have been published by HarperCollins UK under the names of Senta Holland and by Athens Publishers under the name of Nyla Nox. Her stories and articles are published in the US and UK by Business Insider, Open Democracy, Cleis Press, Mergers&inquisitions,PMP Magazine and MarieClaire UK. Under her different author names, she  has been featured by  the BBC, the Telegraph and the London Guardian.

Anette Pollner developed her creative writing workshops during her time in Asia, where she also mentored emerging women writers and published local short story collections.

Her approach is informed by her work as a psychotherapist.

It is the answer to a simple question: the mystery of the empty page. Your page is empty now. In an hour there is a story on it. Where did that story come from?

Anette has now  designed and led almost 100 unique workshops, all with the same theme:  'Creative Writing from the Unconscious Mind'. She is also working as a Creativity Coach for writers and musicians.

In London, Anette studied and later taught creative writing at the City Lit and City University, as well as at the Arvon Foundation and the Groucho Club and was a regular reader at the London Poetry Society. As an alumna of the elite Emerging Translators programme in London she works as a literary translator for leading international publishing houses such as Randomhouse and Dumont. In her 'first life' she was a theatre and opera director.

1. Writing as Nyla Nox

Graveyards o f the Banks is a series of 3 novels set in the jungle of the nightshift at the Most Successful Bank in the Universe in London.

It's funny and tragic, it's sad and absolutely gripping. It's a deep dive into a still very secret world, and into a shadow side of that world that most people know nothing about.
